What’s New in Android Pie over Android Oreo?


The android Oreo and Pie both are the updated versions of android operating system. The android Oreo is the 8th version and pie is the 9th version of android operating systems. Both has its unique advanced features but there are such things in android 9 pie that differs from android Oreo. In this article, we discussed about what’s new in android 9 pie.

1.  Digital Wellbeing
The major highlights of android 9 pie is digital wellbeing. It is a google initiative that helps to track the usage of the mobile phone. There are improvements to Do Not Disturb to silence not just notification sounds, but also all the visual interruptions.

2. Adaptive Brightness
Adaptive brightness in the android 9 pie adjusts the brightness of the mobile with the environmental change. Hence the brightness is adaptive.

3. Gesture Navigation
Through this facility, it is easy to navigate the system without the use of navigation bar. You can switch the applications with gestures instead of buttons.

4. App Limits
This facility permits you to fix a certain time for the particular applications and will give an alert to you when you are in near the time limit.

5. Adaptive Battery
This advanced version uses machine learning techniques for the prediction of applications and allocate battery usage for the applications.

6. Background Restrictions
Android Pie will now give you recommendations in Settings to restrict certain apps that use too much battery. So you can have more control over your battery.

7. Display Cut outs
Android 9 Pie supports Display cut-outs. This means it will support devices with cutouts to make use of available screen space.

Hence the latest version of android includes more advanced specifications than all other previous versions of the android operating systems.
